The keyboard is one the dirtiest and most germ ridden places in the home and work place. The dirt and grime that pile up on the keys, and the hair that becomes lodged under the keys makes it a very unpleasant place to put your hands for extended periods of time. If you can see a mess under your keys, it's high time to clean your keyboard from the inside out.

Note: We are not responsible for any damage that may occur to your keyboard or computer. Proceed at your own risk.

First you need to gather the necessary cleaning items. I use Krud Kutter, a flat head screwdriver, paper towel, and a waste basket. You can whatever cleaning items you wish.

Since we are going to be taking the keys off the keyboard you should have a diagram of your keyboard so you can see where to put the keys back. I find this picture to be a great diagram.

Now you will want to unplug your keyboard from your computer and move the keyboard to a blank table. Start popping the keys off by sliding the screw driver under the key and using it like a lever. Once you have removed one key from the row, you should be able to remove the rest of row by using your finger.

While the keys are off the keyboard, clean them with the chemicals and disinfectants. Now turn to the keyboard. There should be all manner of hair and other gross things present. Remove them. You can now spray the the keyboard with some disinfectant if you wish, but make sure that your keyboard is water proof.

Now put the keys back on as shown by your diagram. Your keyboard should be much more pleasant to use and it will be much healthier for everyone.
