With a clean installation, Windows XP comes with many programs installed which you may not find worth the disk space. To remove them you will want to do the following.

1.Go to the Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs.

2.On the sidebar of that window, click Add/Remove Windows Components.

3.To uninstall certain components make sure that the items you want to remove have no check next to their listing.

4.Click Next.

Don't know if you need to remove a component? There is no real risk of messing up your computer by uninstalling a component, you can always reinstall it. I always remove MSN Explorer and Games (I don't play Solitaire or Minesweeper).
