Have you ever wanted to use a limited account for day to day use (for security reasons) and an Adminstrator account for installing programs and maintence? By default the Adminstrator account is not displayed at the Windows login/welcome screen, but that can be easily changed.
NOTE:
Remeber to backup your Registry before trying this tip.
Step 1
Go to your Start Menu and then Run. Enter regedit.
Step 2
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList and right click on the right section and select New DWORD value. For the value enter Adminstrator. Double Click the value and set it to 1.
The Adminstrator account will now be displayed. You can also apply this tip to any user name you wish to display or hide. You can hide an user by going through the same steps but instead of creating the value Adminstrator you can put another user name. Remeber to use the exact user name.
