While the graphical eye candy looks great it hurts performance a bit and if you have a slower computer disabling these graphics will improve performance considerably.
To go about doing this you will want to do the following.
1. Go to your Control Panel and click the System Control Panel.
2. Select the Advanced Tab and under the performance section, click Settings.
3. To turn off all of the graphical elements and get the best possible performance, click Adjust for best performance, other wise select only the graphic effects you want to have.
